Evaluation of surgical outcome in advanced age patients with developmental hip dysplasia
International Journal of Surgery Feb 25, 2018
Çiçekli O, et al. - The efficacy of the surgical treatment conducted on children with delayed presentation developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) was determined. Researchers, in addition, provided a good comparison of functional and radiographic outcomes and determined various surgical treatment options. Based on findings, researchers recognized concentric reduction and acetabuloplasty of dysplastic hip as the key points of successful treatment. Shelf, DEGA, Salter and Chiari osteotomies could use in harmony. In neglected DDH, open reduction, pelvic osteotomy and femoral shortening were applied successfully and allowed achieving good clinical and radiographic results.
