Evaluation of non-exudative microcystoid macular abnormalities secondary to retinal vein occlusion
Graefe's Archive for Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology Jun 25, 2021
Francone A, Govetto A, Yun L, et al. - In this retrospective chart review, researchers sought to examine non-exudative microcystoid macular abnormalities for visual and anatomical outcome in patients with retinal vein occlusion (RVO) with and without glaucomatous optic neuropathy. Records of 124 eyes (105 patients) with RVO have been reviewed and analyzed. According to results, 71 out of 105 eyes (67.6%) with RVO showed microcystoid macular abnormalities. Compared with eyes with RVO without glaucoma, eyes with RVO and concomitant glaucoma showed a significantly higher number of microcystoid macular abnormalities and worse best-corrected visual acuity.
