Carneiro NS, et al. - Experts aspired to compare the expression of proliferative markers and apoptosis-associated proteins in the oral mucosa adjacent to bone sequestrum associated with osteonecrosis of the jaws (ON) and florid osseous dysplasia (OD). In comparison with inflamed oral mucosa not exposed to bisphosphonates, exposure to bisphosphonates did not alter the expression of epidermal growth factor (EGF), keratinocyte growth factor (KGF), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), Bcl-2, interleukin 6 (IL-6) and the epithelial proliferating index.
