Evaluation of iridocorneal angle, choroidal thickness, and retinal nerve fiber layer thickness in children with a history of retinopathy of prematurity
Journal of Glaucoma Feb 11, 2020
Ulusoy MO, et al. - Among 28 children (50 eyes) with a history of retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) and 23 healthy school-aged children (46 eyes), researchers assessed iridocorneal angle, choroidal thickness, and retinal nerve fiber layer thickness (RNFLT) utilizing spectral-domain optical coherence tomography. Based on the Pearson or Spearman correlation coefficient, correlations between the variables have been examined. In children with ROP history, iridocorneal angle parameters [trabecular iris angle, angle opening distance (AOD500), and trabecular iris space area (TISA500) 500 μm from the scleral spur] were significantly lower. According to findings, ROP is correlated with iridocorneal angle inconsistencies. Possible iridocorneal angle pathology in children with a history of ROP should be a consideration.
