Evaluation of characteristics of the craniofacial complex and dental maturity in girls with central precocious puberty
The Angle Orthodontist May 04, 2018
Lee HK, et al. - Authors sought to identify unique characteristics of the craniofacial complex and dental maturity in girls with central precocious puberty (CPP). The mean age of the participants involved was 8.6 ± .5 years. They noted an impact of CPP on the anteroposterior growth of the mandible in the craniofacial complex and the rotation of the mandibular plane angle. In girls with CPP, early maturation of the mandibular teeth was observed. Compared to the reference group, the mandibular ramus height and total mandibular length were greater and the lower anterior facial height was lesser in the CPP group. Mandibular tooth formation stages were strongly positively correlated with the presence of CPP in girls.
