Evaluation and prognostic significance of manganese superoxide dismutase in clear cell renal cell carcinoma
Human Pathology Jun 26, 2018
Zhao Z, et al. - Researchers examined the expression profile of manganese superoxide dismutase (MnSOD) in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) tissues, and the clinical significance of this enzyme in ccRCC subjects. For this analysis, MnSOD mRNA was evaluated in 42 ccRCC and 33 normal kidney tissues by the Oncomine database, and its protein was identified in 145 ccRCC and 3 normal tissues by immunohistochemistry staining (IHC). It was observed that MnSOD was identified as a prognostic factor for subjects with ccRCC. Findings suggested that oxidative stress could be involved in the tumorigenesis and progression of ccRCC.
