It was reported that the prescription of postoperative oral antibiotics was given to approximately two-thirds of patients. Nonetheless, they did not display a tie-up with reduced odds of explant following IPP or AUS placement. Owing to the individual risk related to the antibiotic usage and increasing bacterial resistance, the role of oral antibiotics after prosthetic placement ought to be reconsidered. Moreover, it warranted advanced research.
