Chipollini J, et al. - This trial incorporated an examination of the diagnostic value of intraoperative frozen section (FS) as well as the clinicopathologic factors that influence its accuracy. Based on the findings, it was deduced that the intraoperative FS was highly specific and moderately sensitive for the recognition of positive superficial inguinal lymph nodes in penile cancer. While limiting its reliance for patients with higher body mass index, the utility of FS assisted in the intraoperative surgical planning.
