Etoricoxib and diclofenac might reduce the risk of dementia in patients with osteoarthritis: A nation-wide, population-based retrospective cohort study

Xue YH, et al. - The relationship between osteoarthritis (OA) and NSAIDs with dementia was investigated in this population-based cohort study. For this investigation, samples from the Taiwan Longitudinal Health Insurance Database were chosen and participants were divided into an OA and non-OA group. The present data indicated that the occurrence of dementia in patients with OA was higher. Results also suggested that etoricoxib and diclofenac might lessen the incidence of dementia in patients with OA.
