Estriol serum levels in new and chronic users of vaginal estriol cream: A prospective observational study
Neurourology and Urodynamics Apr 16, 2020
te West NID, et al. - Using quantitative liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry, researchers examined the estriol serum concentrations in “new” and “chronic users” of topical estriol cream. They conducted a singlecentre prospective observational study including postmenopausal women with urogynaecological complaints: previous topical estriol use was not reported in 40 participants (“new users”) whereas 50 participants reported using estriol cream for more than 12 weeks (“chronic users”). In 87% of participants, 12‐hour estriol levels were less than 100 pmol/L; these results are reassuring.
