Estimating case fatality risk of severe yellow fever cases: Systematic literature review and meta-analysis

Servadio JL, Munoz-Zani C, Convertino M, et al. - Findings from this first systematic literature review estimating the case fatality risk (CFR) of Yellow Fever indicated CFR of nearly 39 % among severe Yellow Fever cases.
A search in PubMed and Ovid Medline yielded 1,133 studies, and title/abstract review followed by full text review yielded 14 articles describing 32 proportions of fatal cases, 26 of which were befitting for meta-analysis.
Findings suggest the estimated CFR of 39 %.
Relative to Africa, South America had a higher CFR when stratification was done by continent, though there were fewer studies describing the estimates for South America
