Estimating bone mineral content based on different types of muscle strength tests
Journal of Bodywork & Movement Therapies Oct 06, 2017
da Rosa Orssatto LB, et al. - This research ascertained verify which muscle strength tests yielded a better elucidation of the bone mineral content (BMC) of the femoral neck and lumbar spine. It also aimed at formulating the predictive equations to calculate the femoral neck and lumbar spine BMC. No connections were reported between BMC and strength variables, among men. For females, the 5-repetition maximum of the leg press (5-RMLP) and seated leg curl (5-RMLC) variables described the differences of femoral neck BMC. Meanwhile, 5-RMLP and body mass elucidated the lumbar spine BMC. Advanced studies were necessitated with emphasis on the strength tests with a greater predictive capacity.
