Erythromycin poudrage vs erythromycin slurry in the treatment of refractory spontaneous pneumothorax

Zhai CC, et al. - In this current investigation, researchers compared thoracoscopic erythromycin poudrage with erythromycin slurry via a chest tube for patients with documented refractory spontaneous pneumothorax (RSP). Findings demonstrated the efficacy as well as safety of erythromycin as a sclerosing agent for pleurodesis in management of RSP. Although both of these methods were found to be safe, erythromycin poudrage was more effective than erythromycin slurry.
