Obstetrics and Gynecology Nov 10, 2017

Shen XF, et al. - Researchers performed a randomized controlled trial to assess whether maintaining a motor-sparing epidural analgesia infusion affects the duration of the second stage of labor in nulliparous parturients compared with a placebo control. In this study, compared with a placebo infusion, no effect on the duration of the second stage of labor was observed with maintaining the infusion of epidural medication. They observed similar maternal and neonatal. The duration of the second stage of labor seemed not affected by a low concentration of epidural local anesthetic.
