Crespo J, Cuadrado A, Perelló C, et al. - In this population-based, cross-sectional study conducted from July 2015–April 2017, experts ascertained the hepatitis C virus (HCV) predominance and evaluated the cost-efficiency of a screen-and-treat approach in the Spanish population. It was discovered that with nearly 25% of anti-HCV+ people having an active infection, compared with formerly evaluated rates, the prevailing HCV burden was lower. Thus, across all age cohorts, at modern treatment prices in Spain, an approach of screening and treatment is cost-efficient.
