Allergy Apr 19, 2018
Barbarot S, et al. - Researchers carried out this international, cross-sectional, web-based survey was performed in the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, and Japan, to estimate the prevalence of atopic dermatitis (AD) in adults and by disease severity using Patient-Oriented SCORAD, Patient-Orientated Eczema Measure, and Patient Global Assessment. As per findings, prevalence of adult AD ranged from 2.1% to 4.9% across countries. With age, a decline in the prevalence was noted. For males vs females, generally lower prevalence was reported. Within countries, regional variability was observed. Irrespective of measure or region, severe AD represented a small proportion of the overall AD population.
