Epidemiology and risk factors in CKD patients with pulmonary hypertension: A retrospective study
BMC Nephrology Mar 24, 2018
Zhang Q, et al. - The prevalence of pulmonary hypertension (PH) in chronic kidney disease (CKD) and their association was determined herein. In CKD patients, an increase in PH prevalence was noted with the deterioration of renal function, however, which was not found to be directly related to the severity of PH. In patients on dialysis, a more frequent occurrence of PH was reported. The more prevalence of PH in CKD patients was predicted by higher body mass index and triglyceride, more severe anemia, proteinuria and secondary hyperparathyroidism, and poor renal dysfunction.
