BMC Infectious Diseases Feb 19, 2019
Wang L, et al. - Researchers conducted an observational, prospective surveillance to assess the epidemiology and risk factors for nosocomial infection (NI) in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) of a teaching hospital in Northwest China from 2013 to 2015. NI was reported in 102 out of 1,347 patients. Through year 2013–2015, stable and relatively low NI rates were evident. The independent risk factors for RICU infection included Average Severity of Illness Score categories D and E, stay ≥10 days, immunosuppressive therapy and ventilator use.
