Eotaxin levels in patients with primary dysmenorrhea

Gul E, et al. - In view of the observation that eosinophils are cells that are present in endometrium only in the perimenstrual period, researchers evaluated the levels of eotaxin, a potent eosinophilic chemoattractant, in patients with Primary dysmenorrhea (PD). It was noted that compared to healthy women, patients with PD displayed significantly different eotaxin levels. In determining the factors contributing to the pathogenesis of dysmenorrhea, detection of different levels of eotaxin in patients with PD seemed to be a new and important step.
