Gompelmann D, et al. - Authors evaluated the implant-related events, complications during valve removal, and clinical outcome after endoscopic procedure. Findings suggested the feasibility of valve removal after > 6 months since implantation. They noted an association of valve removal with an acceptable safety profile. Nonetheless, experts recommended close monitoring of these patients with limited pulmonary reserve with particular attention to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) exacerbations and respiratory failure.
