Endoscopic detection rate of sessile serrated lesions in Lynch syndrome patients is comparable to an age- and gender-matched control population: Case-control study with expert pathology review
Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Dec 14, 2017
Vleugels JLA, et al. - The authors compared endoscopic detection rates and distribution of sessile serrated lesions (SSLs) in Lynch syndrome patients to a matched control population in this case-control study. In Lynch patients undergoing colonoscopy, the detection rate of SSLs was similar to a matched population. These findings implied that in Lynch syndrome, the role of the serrated neoplasia pathway in colorectal cancer development seemed to be comparable to that in the general population.
