Endometrial carcinoma: Evaluation using diffusion-tensor imaging and its correlation with histopathologic findings
Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Jun 21, 2019
Yamada I, et al. - Through a prospective study of 25 consecutive patients with histologically confirmed endometrial carcinoma (EMC) who were surgically treated, researchers assessed if diffusion-tensor imaging (DTI) as a noninvasive technique for evaluating tumor invasion depth and its histologic grade had value. On all DTI maps, all EMCs were clearly represented as hypointense areas. Further, EMCs were visibly delineated from the normal uterine wall, and DTI maps and histopathologic data offered identical findings in terms of tumor invasion depth. In patients with EMC, there may be usefulness in DTI for evaluating tumor invasion depth and its histologic grade.
