Orbegozo D, et al. - This study entails the appraisal of early plasma endocan levels as predictors of death or prolonged ventilation in acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) patients. Findings indicated that blood endocan concentrations early in the evolution of ARDS may be a useful marker of disease severity.
