Hall BR, et al. - Authors performed comparison of outcomes between PC, laparoscopic (LC), and open cholecystectomy (OC) in critically ill patients with emergent calculous cholecystitis (CC). Findings demonstrated that for these patients, emergent cholecystectomy was safer and more cost effective than PC and thus supported the use of cholecystectomy as the primary treatment approach.
