Lord K, et al. - The association between Emergency Department (ED) boarding and three common adverse hospitalization outcomes (rapid response team activation (RRT), escalation in care, and mortality) was examined. Researchers noted adverse hospitalization outcomes rarely within the first 24 h of hospital admission to a general medicine service, and these outcomes were not observed to be associated with ED boarding.
