Alzheimer's & Dementia Oct 24, 2018
Fani L, et al. - A population-based cohort study was conducted to examine the relationship between H. pylori serology and dementia risk. For this investigation, H. pylori serum IgG titers were measured in 4215 nondemented participants of the Rotterdam Study with a mean age of 69 years between 1997 and 2002. Researchers reported that 529 participants developed dementia, of which 463 had Alzheimer's disease during a median follow-up of 13.3 years. No association was found between H. pylori and dementia risk in this community-dwelling population.
