CDKN3 expression is an independent prognostic factor and associated with advanced tumor stage in nasopharyngeal carcinoma
International Journal of Medical Sciences Jun 25, 2018
Chang SL, et al. - Researchers examined the expression of cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 3 (CDKN3) in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) tissues and its prognostic significance. To assess the protein expression of CDKN3, immunohistochemistry was performed for 124 NPC subjects. By using H-score method, the stainings of CDKN3 were scored. The study results showed that high expression of CDKN3 was an independent negative prognostic factor for NPC and was correlated with advanced disease status. For patients with NPC, it could serve as potential therapeutic target and aid in risk stratification.
