Turashvili G, et al. - The expression of VE1 protein in low-grade serous neoplasms (LGSNs) and its relationship with BRAF mutation-associated histological features and BRAF mutation status were examined in this analysis. Pathology reports and available slides from ovarian serous borderline tumors (SBTs) and low-grade serous carcinomas (LGSCs) diagnosed between 2000 and 2012 were reviewed. Researchers reported that BRAF^V600E mutations were significantly more common in SBTs vs LGSCs. Findings revealed that the immunohistochemical expression of VE1 protein was correlated strongly with BRAF^V600E mutation and BRAF mutation-associated histological features. For the detection of BRAF^V600Emutations, VE1 immunohistochemistry was a reliable method.
