BMC Pulmonary Medicine Apr 10, 2018
Tong X, et al. - Researchers assessed the clinical features and short-term outcomes in patients presenting with acute chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) exacerbation from January 2014 to March 2016 in Beijing Hospital, China. Aspergillus colonization in the lower respiratory tract of COPD patients showed typical clinical manifestations and provided a dilemma of clinical treatment strategy. In the Aspergillus colonization group vs in the control group, longer remission time and the duration of hospitalization were noted. Patients in Aspergillus colonization group vs control group were administered higher dose of inhaled corticosteroids and more types of antibiotics in acute exacerbation stage.
