ANXA7 regulates trophoblast proliferation and apoptosis in preeclampsia
American Journal of Reproductive Immunology Oct 03, 2019
Mo HQ, Tian FJ, Li X, et al. - To illustrate the expression level of AnnexinA7 (ANXA7), human placental tissues from women with preeclampsia (PE) and normal pregnant women were collected and a possible relationship between ANXA7 and human trophoblast apoptosis was examined. In placentas from women with PE patients vs normal pregnant controls, ANXA7 expression was significantly lower. In HTR-8, knockdown of ANXA7 provoked cell apoptosis and inhibited cell proliferation via downregulation of BCL2 protein levels. Overexpression of ANXA7 decreased apoptosis and increased HTR-8 proliferation. Further analyses exhibited that in HTR-8 cells, ANXA7 knockdown repressed the activation of the JAK1/signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) pathway. Hence, in trophoblast apoptosis in preeclampsia, the findings showed a new regulatory pathway of ANXA7/JAK1/STAT3, implying that ANXA7 is a possible therapeutic target for preeclampsia.
