AHRR hypomethylation, lung function, lung function decline, and respiratory symptoms

European Respiratory Journal Jan 27, 2018

Kodal JB, et al. - A consistent association between smoking exposure and hypomethylation in the aryl hydrocarbon receptor repressor(AHRR) gene(cg05575921) has been shown by epigenome wide association studies. Herein, in the general population, the presumed association of AHRR hypomethylation with low lung function, steeper lung function decline, and respiratory symptoms, was tested. Findings demonstrated that AHRR hypomethylation was associated with low lung function, steeper lung function decline, and respiratory symptoms.
