Logan LK, et al. - The epidemiology of A baumannii in children in the United States was studied using a large reference laboratory database. Overall, From 1999 to 2012, an increase was observed in cephalosporin-resistant (CephR) and Carbapenem-resistant (CR) A baumannii isolates among children. However, after 2008, a decreasing trend was evident. Ongoing surveillance of A baumannii infections and continued assessment of effective prevention strategies are required in vulnerable populations.
