Perrin EM, et al. - The purpose of this study was to determine to what extent inflammation preceded the development of obesity among 2-year-old children born extremely premature. It was brought to light that neonatal systemic inflammation preceded the onset of obesity. This data pointed out that inflammation could serve as a contributory factor for the development of obesity.
