Elevation of high-sensitivity cardiac troponin T at admission is associated with increased 3-month mortality in acute ischemic stroke patients treated with thrombolysis
Clinical Cardiology Jul 30, 2019
Sui Y, et al. - In acute ischemic stroke patients treated with intravenous tissue-type plasminogen activator, researchers assed if elevated levels of high-sensitivity cardiac troponin T (hs-cTnT) are related to worse clinical outcomes (disability and/or mortality) using multivariable logistic regression. Findings revealed a significant association of older age and stroke etiology with elevated hs-cTnT levels in multivariable regression analysis. In this study, an increased risk of 90-day mortality was reported among patients relative to the elevation of hs-cTnT at admission.
