Elevated miR-615-3p expression predicts adverse clinical outcome and promotes proliferation and migration of prostate cancer cells
American Journal of Pathology Dec 06, 2019
Laursen EB, Fredsøe J, Schmidt L, et al. - The expression of miR-615-3p (up-regulated in prostate cancer [PC] compared with non-malignant controls) was measured in PC tissue specimens from 239 men who underwent radical prostatectomy (RP), and it was examined whether miR-615-3p could prognosticate postoperative biochemical recurrence (BCR). Findings were consequently authorized in three independent RP cohorts (n = 222, n = 273, and n = 387) and functional overexpression studies carried out in PC cells (PC3M). Results imply that of postoperative BCR and PC-specific survival, miR-615-3p is an important predictor and it has oncogenic functions in PC cells.
