Elevated expression of CAV1 is associated with unfavorable prognosis of patients with breast cancer who undergo surgery and neoadjuvant chemotherapy
Cancer Management and Research Sep 26, 2020
Ye JH, Shi JJ, Yin X, et al. - Researchers examined 80 breast cancer tissue samples for the expression of caveolin-1 (CAV1) using immunohistochemistry (IHC) in order to determine its prognostic significance on patients with breast cancer administered neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT). Outcomes revealed correlation of overexpression of CAV1 with shorter disease-free survival and overall survival in patients with breast cancer administered NACT. Hence, they suggest a possible prognostic value of high levels of CAV1 for such patients.
