Elevated DSN1 expression is associated with poor survival in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma
Human Pathology Jul 07, 2018
Sun C, et al. - This study draws on data from The Cancer Genome Atlas and Gene Expression Omnibus to examine dosage suppressor of Nnf1 (DSN1) expression in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) tissues and analyze its functions in HCC cells. By reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction, DSN1 mRNA expression was evaluated in 30 pairs of HCC samples. Researchers found that DSN1 was upregulated in HCC tissues and was strongly correlated with sex, AFP, tumor size, tumor nodule number, cancer embolus and differentiation grade. The findings from the present study suggested that DSN1 could act as a novel prognostic biomarker for patients with HCC.
