Diabetes Research and Clinical Practice Feb 23, 2019
Noori-Zadeh A, et al. – In this study, researchers examined circulatory apelin peptide levels in patients with type 2 diabetes using systematic review and meta-analysis under random-effects model and standardized mean difference (SMD) as the effect size. For heterogeneity testing, they utilized Q and I2% statistic indices and meta-regression. A total of nine eligible studies were identified and included for meta-analysis via online database search. Overall, the investigators noted that apelin circulatory levels in type 2 diabetic patients were higher compared with control individuals.
