European Archives of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology Aug 09, 2020
Cho KS, Kim SW, Kim JK, et al. - In this prospective, randomized, multicenter study involving 93 patients with chronic rhinosinusitis who had identical endoscopic sinus surgery (ESS), researchers sought to examine the effectiveness of Rhino-Protect ointment following ESS. All patients were advised after surgery to perform nasal saline irrigation and administer a nasal spray to each nostril, then apply Rhino-Protect ointment only to one nostril; the other nostril served as a control. According to findings, applying Rhino-Protect after ESS significantly reduced the development of edema and crusts, resulting in improved pain, dryness, and crust discomfort for patients. No patient reported any significant adverse incident related to using Rhino-Protect.
