Cervenka BP, et al. - This trial strived to gauge the therapeutic adequacy of total laryngectomy alone for certain patient subgroups with locally advanced laryngeal cancer. It was determined that a benefit could not be gained in the locally advanced laryngeal cancer patients with T3 primaries, no nodal disease or primaries of the glottis, from postoperative radiotherapy, when treated with primary total laryngectomy.
