Efficacy of indoor air purification in the treatment of Artemisia pollen allergic rhinitis: A randomized, double-blind, clinical controlled trial
Clinical Otolaryngology Feb 23, 2020
Li L, Zhang L, Mo JH, et al. - The clinical efficacy of a high-efficiency air purifier was determined in patients with allergic rhinitis via performing a randomized, double-blind, clinical controlled trial with active and inactive versions of an air purifier. In this study, researchers randomly assigned a total of 90 patients with allergic rhinitis who were sensitive to allergens of Artemisia pollen to one of two groups in equal numbers. The groups who used the active vs the inactive air purifier exhibited significant differences in rhinitis symptoms as per the allergy symptom score. Outcomes thus establish the health benefits of particle filtration.
