Cho HK, et al. - The effects of perioperative dexmedetomidine were examined as an adjuvant to tonsillectomy compared with opioid or sham in children. Results indicated that perioperative administration of dexmedetomidine could offer pain and agitation relief without side effects in children undergoing adenotonsillectomy. However, more likewise studies were needed to confirm these findings.
