Efficacy and safety of transepithelial corneal collagen crosslinking surgery vs standard corneal collagen crosslinking surgery for keratoconus: A meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials
BMC Ophthalmology | Jan 07, 2018
Li W, et al. - During this trial, the efficacy and safety of transepithelial corneal collagen crosslinking (transepithelial CXL) vs standard corneal collagen crosslinking (epithelium-off CXL) on keratoconus were inspected by the authors. When compared to the transepithelial CXL, the standard CXL was found to be more effective in decreasing the maximum keratometry. Moreover, it was observed that the transepithelial CXL yielded favorable visual outcomes. Similar safety was illustrated by both techniques.
