Ophthalmic Research Jan 21, 2019
Nam K, et al. - Among 1467 subjects, researchers assessed the effectiveness and safety of topical 3% diquafosol in the treatment of dry eye disease (DED) after cataract surgery. They observed the consequences (improvements) in terms of Schirmer score (weighted mean difference 0.74 mm at 4 weeks), tear film break-up time (TFBUT), rose bengal staining score, and corneal fluorescein staining score after treatment with diquafosol as compared to the individuals using other eye drops. They noted after cataract surgery diquafosol more efficient than the other eye drops with respect to TFBUT and rose bengal staining.
