Efficacy and safety of lumen-apposing metal stents in management of pancreatic fluid collections: Are they better than plastic stents? A systematic review and meta-analysis
Digestive Diseases and Sciences | Jan 05, 2018
Hammad T, et al. - A systematic review was performed to assess the cumulative efficacy and safety of lumen-apposing metal stents (LAMS) in the management of pancreatic fluid collections (PFC). Moreover, the clinicians compared the efficacy and safety of LAMS with multiple plastic stents (MPS) in the management of PFC. In the management of PFCs, LAMS appeared to have excellent efficacy and safety. They could be preferred over plastic stents as they were associated with better clinical success and lesser adverse events.
