Efficacy and safety of LigaSure small jaw instrument in thyroidectomy: A 1-year prospective observational study

Mao XC, et al. - Researchers compared the effectiveness and safety profiles of LigaSure small jaw instrument (LSJI) vs conventional technique in patients undergoing open thyroidectomy. They conducted this single-center, prospective, observational study in Zhejiang Provincial Cancer Hospital and enrolled patients who underwent thyroidectomy between September 2013 and September 2014. In Chinese patients, compared with the conventional method, significantly reduced operative time, intraoperative blood loss, and postoperative drainage were noted with LigaSure hemostasis in thyroidectomy.
