Gynecologic and Obstetric Investigation Oct 23, 2020
Ghamry NK, Ali AS, Shareef MA, et al. - Researchers conducted a randomized controlled trial investigating the efficacy and safety of IV tramadol vs IV paracetamol in ameliorating acute pain of primary dysmenorrhea. They randomized 100 patients with primary dysmenorrhea to receive either 1-g paracetamol or 100-mg tramadol in 100-mL normal saline as an IV infusion over 10 min. Outcomes support the superiority of IV tramadol to IV paracetamol in relieving acute pain of primary dysmenorrhea with a comparable side effect profile.
