Efficacy and safety of human chorionic gonadotropin for treatment of cryptorchidism: A meta-analysis of randomised controlled trials
Journal of Paediatrics and Child Health Apr 22, 2018
Wei Y, et al. - For the management of cryptorchidism, researchers contemplated the efficacy and safety of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) in comparison with other hormone treatments offered to prepubescent males. Testicular descent rate was used as the final positive outcome of the treatments offered. No notable variation was discovered between the effectiveness of hCG treatment and gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) treatment in bilateral as well as unilateral cryptorchidism. Findings did not illustrate the superiority of hCG treatment when compared to placebo.
