Efficacy and safety of CT-guided high-dose-rate interstitial brachytherapy in primary and secondary malignancies of the pancreas
European Journal of Radiology Feb 22, 2019
Omari J, et al. - In patients with primary and secondary malignancies of the pancreas, researchers assessed the effectiveness and safety of CT-guided interstitial brachytherapy (iBT). For this investigation, they assessed 13 patients with 13 lesions of the pancreatic corpus and tail. Descriptively, peri- and post-interventional complications were evaluated. According to findings, image-guided iBT may be a safe and especially effective treatment in subjects with primary and secondary malignancies of the pancreas and could provide a well-tolerated additional therapeutic option for the multidisciplinary management of selected patients. No serious adverse events were reported.
