Galling B, et al. - Researchers here aimed at evaluating the efficacy and safety of antidepressant augmentation of antipsychotics in schizophrenia. As per findings, adjunctive antidepressants were effective for total and particularly negative symptom reduction among schizophrenia patients on stable antipsychotic treatment. However, across antidepressants, effects differed from small-to-medium, and negative symptom improvement appeared restricted to the augmentation of first-generation antipsychotics.
